Falmouth Sailing Week

In its modern form Falmouth Sailing Week dates from 1950 but there are records of sailing regattas in Falmouth as long ago as 1837.  The week is a co-operative venture by the six local sailing and yacht clubs in the guise of the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association.  Racing takes place from Sunday to Saturday on two course areas – Falmouth Bay (offshore yachts) and the Fal Estuary (dayboats and dinghies).  Sunbeams are prominent amongst the traditional classes taking part.
